Execute EC2 Command with Cloudshot

Executing commands on EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances serves several important purposes and offers many benefits for managing and operating cloud-based infrastructure. 

  • Watch step-by-step guide for executing commands on EC2:
Steps:

1. Select the EC2 instance you want to execute a command on.

2. Right-click on the selected instance.
3. In the context menu that appears, hover over 'Cloudshot AWS'.
4. Click on 'Execute Command' in the submenu.

5. Cloudshot gives you another way to access the Execute Command—just click on this third highlighted icon button.

6. In the main execution interface, you will have three options to run commands:

  • You can upload a script file in .sh format.
  • Paste an HTTPS URL that contains your script.
  • Directly enter an EC2 command.
7. Once you've entered your desired EC2 command:
  • Click on the 'Run Command' button at the bottom right of the pop-up window.

8. When you enter any command of your choice, you will receive a notification confirming that the command has been successfully executed.

9.  Additionally, you can view the details of the command execution by clicking on the highlighted arrow.

10. A window will open, displaying the results of the command execution on your EC2 instance. This provides a clear overview of the execution process, allowing you to track and monitor the outcomes effortlessly.

11. For this demo, we have executed uname -a command.

12. This command shows basic info about your system. It tells you things like the name of the operating system, the version of the kernel, the machine type, and the system’s architecture.

13. You can also copy the output and hide the details if needed.
