Cloudshot AWS Scheduling: Transform Your Cloud Resource Management

Scheduling in Cloudshot is a feature that allows users to automate various tasks, reports, and actions to occur at specified times or intervals. 

Steps:

1. Select the EC2 instance.

2. Right-click on the selected instance.
3. In the context menu that appears, hover over 'Cloudshot AWS'.
4. Click on 'Schedule' in the submenu.

Here's how it works:


  1. Instance Selection:
    • Users can select a single instance or multiple instances they want to schedule. This is typically done through a dropdown or search field where you can choose the specific cloud resources you want to manage.
    • In the image, we can see an input field at the top where an instance ID is displayed, indicating the currently selected instance.
  2. Schedule Creation:
    • After selecting the instance(s), users are presented with a weekly schedule grid.
    • The grid allows users to specify which hours of each day the selected instance(s) should be running or paused.
  3. Setting the Schedule:
    • Green cells in the grid indicate times when the instance(s) will be active.
    • Blank cells (with just a '-') indicate times when the instance(s) will be paused.
    • In this example, the schedule is set for the instance(s) to run Monday through Friday during business hours, and to be paused on weekends and overnight.
  4. Cost Savings Calculation:
    • The interface shows the cost impact of the schedule:
      • Current Price: $54.31
      • New Price after scheduling: $38.79
      • Savings from pausing (for 12 months): $15.52, which is a 29% reduction
  5. Applying the Schedule:
    • Users can save the new schedule or reset it using the 'Save' and 'Reset Schedule' buttons.
  6. Visual Indicators:
    • At the bottom, there are indicators for 'Machine in Start State' (green) and 'Machine in Stop State' (grey), corresponding to the colors in the schedule grid.
